"Duties"
As a cooperative, Glenbrook's administrative
duties and daily operation are dependent on the individuals
who comprise its membership. The school's organization
and policies reflect years of practical experience and
the qualified staff that has helped provide the school
with a well-developed philosophy.
Parent Participation:
The special nature of Glenbrook Cooperative Nursery
School is the close working relationship between parents
and teachers. This cooperative approach offers a unique
support system as it builds a sense of community and
togetherness for parents and children.
We ask our parents to participate in
three ways:
- take part in your child's class regularly;
- hold a job at the school;
- attend the general membership meetings to take
care of the business of Glenbrook Cooperative Nursery
School.
Glenbrook holds a minimum of five
regular meetings for the membership during the school
year. We schedule meetings on the second Wednesday night
of designated months, but this could change depending
on needs. The membership meetings are necessary to handle
the business of the school. Attendance at these meetings
is required.
Members of the school hold all of
the following jobs. Our handbook contains a detailed
explanation of each job. The board and teachers meet
one hour before each membership meeting. Executive Committee
jobs are board positions.
